RE: "Outside Temp" adjustable?
First you have to remove the black plastic cover over the plenum
chamber. Remove the rubber hood seal from the firewall. The plastic
cover is held by tiny metal fasteners. Beware, they're PITA to remove
and the this plastic cover tends to crack _very_ easily. The best way to
remove the fasteners it to pry them open with a small screwdriver. You
don't really have to remove the fasteners at the windshield, once you
remove the ones at the firewall the cover can be lifted enough to gain
access. You'll see a big white box in the centre (a heater/blower
housing) and yet bigger black box at the passenger side (this is
evaporator housing). Now find an ugly metal bracket bolted to the
evaporator box. This bracket holds the rubber plug that isn't plugged
into anything. This is the outside temperature sensor. Should you have
trouble finding it, remove the upper radiator shroud and look under the
front crossmember. There's another temp sensor that's identical to that
at the evaporator box, so you know what to look for.
When reinstalling the plenum chamber cover, I would suggest that you
don't put the metal fasteners back. The rubber seal holds the cover just
as well and you will be able to acces the chamber in seconds should you
need to do it in the future.
