Yes I do! When I bought my 85 5000S, the button was in the same
condition as yours. Being owned by a cowboy from Australia, it
was not repaired in the recommended manner but it worked. That
switch just opens the circuit to the rear switches. It was jumped with
a Scotch-Lok across the two wires. It is still that way. If you don't
mind having power to them all the time, it's a good fix. If you want to
fix it right, I may have an extra switch I'd sell you.
As for the switches not working, it's probably the switches that
are not working. Try some electrical parts cleaner in an aerosol
can. If that doesn't work you can disassemble the switches and
scrape the contacts to remove corrosion. This usually fixes them.
