When Audi Sport unofficially brought a rally 200 to Olympia Washington for 
the "Olympus Rally"  in the mid '80's with all kinds of trick stuff like 
special struts with titanium calipers one of the other things I noticed was 
a different exhaust system.

The size and special shape was what caught my attention.  It started at the 
turbo at approximately the diameter of the turbine exducer and gradually 
increased to about 3 inches to about the rear axle!  It was carefully hand 
made and bent with many welded seams.  It  not very pretty, but at least a 
weeks worth of effort.  I've never seen anything like it again.

No opinion today only my two cents worth of observation.
