When I put a European speedo head on my 740 turbo wagon, I had a speedo
shop advance the unit...and I watched how they did it. On a traditional VDO
style unit, with the barrel odometer, essentially you need a small
screwdriver or a pair of thumbs to carefully pull the individual barrels
slightly apart...then you just turn them to the mileage you desire.
When I moved the speedo to my second 740, I did it myself. Took less time
to do than to write it up...
