the owner's manual of our Volvo 940 mentions that if the speedodometer has
been replaced, the coloring of the odometer's tenth digits will be
different.  i believe OE was white number on black, replacements have red
numbers on black.  good idea though easily cirvumvented with dismantler
sourced parts.
