Santa Cruz Q-list breakfast...
Fortunately, I was able to juggle my vacation schedule -- only a true car
nut would consider a 5-day trip that involved driving over 1900 miles to be
a vacation! -- and attend the 1st Annual Bay Area Q-list meeting.
Nine cars made their way to The Red Apple Cafe (10, if you count the one
Wolff had stashed in the trunk of his 4kq!) and enjoyed the opportunity to
finally put faces to the names of people I've corresponded with via email
for the past few years. It was also quite a kick to see three Ur-Qs
together in one place ... I figure that's about .5% of all those officially
imported to the US and perhaps as much as 1% of those still on the road. It
certainly was one of the highlights of my trip...
I'll be preparing a complete roadtrip report (including photos) and posting
it to my web page in the next week or so ... until then, thanks again to
everyone who attended for their hospitality. As we were leaving, Paula, my
girlfriend, remarked that was surprising how well everyone seemed to know
everyone else considering that we had (most of us, anyway) just met for the
very first time. Isn't technology wonderful? :^)
