Lowering fuel temperature...

Hi!

While I'm gathering help from the list about several fixes I need
to do to my car, I thought I might as well throw another thought in.

I recently saw a modifier add a fuel cooling system to his Ford
Cosworth. He reckons a drop in fuel temperature by a certain amount
of degrees results in a 1bhp increase in power. I can't remember
off the top of my head what the temp drop was, I'll have to look
it up. Supposedly there are fuel "intercoolers" out there. One of
previous posts from about a month ago shoved another silly thought
like this onto the list, but then it was a method to achieve
lower consumption figures by heating the fuel slightly and some
guys do this by wrapping the fuel line around part of the "warm"
manifold, very dangerous indeed. So if heating the fuel causes a
fuel usage drop, then cooling it, even if it provides slightly more
power, will adversely affect consumption. Right?

Thoughts?
