Canadian '86 ur-q

Oh honey, look what I brought home for Christmas a seriously damaged
1986 ur-q..... for me it would end in tears. It's worth more than my
life to even consider this so I'm posting to the list for help.

Anyway I followed up on Jeff's lead on the 1986 Canadian ur-q (way
back when?). The car is located in New Brunswick, if you don't know
where that is, don't worry about the car! The car currently resides
with an independent insurance appraiser and there is a low ball offer
in on the car, I know how much, and if anyone is serious they can
contact me for more details. The appraiser is currently asking $2,800
(CDN), hey it's one of the last North American ur-qs and would make an
ideal Christmas present all this and only 2 grand US (and that's
probably negotiable)! Oh there is a bit of damage...

The car took a heavy hit to the left hand side. The door is badly
damaged, the left rocker pannel and the rear quarter pannel, there is
also a crease in the roof. All the glass on the left hand side is no
more, the rear window is okay. Disclaimer I haven't seen this car but
the guy selling sounds fairly honest. The car started and ran, but
this was back in May just after the accident. The car is red with a
     black leather interior and 152,000kms.

I would really like to see this car go to a good home i.e. someone
willing to repair it and not part it out. This was one, if not THE
last ur-q too be shipped to North America and it would be a pity to
see it destroyed/parted out or poorly repaired....

So anyone out there who is SERIOUSLY looking for a project, preferably
in the North East, give me a call.

Incidentally shipping to Toronto from NB would be about $480 (CDN). Oh
I wished my company would go public sooner ;)
