Ur-Q oversteer?

I was instructing at an autocross school today and took one of my students
for a run in my Ur-Q on its street tires ... I spun it nearly 360 degrees at
the second corner and then dirt-tracked my way around the remaining corners.
It was fun but where the hell did all that oversteer come from? I know the
rear tires are worn out and nearly bald but it wasn't behaving like that
when I was flogging it on my Santa Cruz trip ... considering that I had the
center diff locked as well (which usually causes the car to push), I'm
really puzzled. Was it just the tires (the new ones are in the garage
waiting to be installed) or does it have a handling quirk that is cleverly
hidden and which I haven't yet discovered?
