Interesting ... Yes, I've driven it briefly on an icy/snowy road and yes, it
was loosey-goosey there, too.  I don't understand why there should be a
problem, though, since the measured difference in diameter was exactly 5.5mm
or about .2" ... this is less than the difference between a new set of full
tread-depth tires and a set of worn-out ones where the tread depth is at the
wear bars.  I've successfully run slightly mis-matched tires before on the
track and never had any problems with oversteer there...

I'll have to think about this some more ... thanks for the input!
