Overhauling 5000/100 5kt transmission...

I am going to do an overhaul of the transmission on my euro 165hp '88 100,
equipped with the MC engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car has
clocked about 190.000 km, and the oil seals in the gearbox are leaking.
There is a grinding noise when accelerating and also some vibrations that
seems to come from the outer CV's, esspecially in curves. There is only a
slight noise at cruise speed, and there is no noise if I let the car roll in
neutral gear.

I hope to get rid of the noise and vibrations by adding new outer CV's and
new front wheel bearings. Hopefully it's not the gearbox!

Any suggestions on how to determine that the problem really is worn outer
CV's?

Should I exchange the inner CV's as well?

I'm considering fitting an ABS which among other things would request a
different set of outer CV's, any advice?

Are the CV's made by an OEM?

Anyone who can supply me with a SKF (or FAG) part-# for the front wheel
bearings and possible the rear wheel bearings?

I presume the oil seals in the gearbox to be common standard ones?

Anyone who can supply me with the outer and inner diameter and the height of
the gearbox oil seals?

I'am thinking of bying the Official Factory Repair Manual. I have seen one
for the 5000C/CS 1984-1988, would that also cover my euro 100, or is the a
nore suitable one for me?

Any help gratefully acknowledged!
