I am using 225/45/16 tires and wouldn't change a thing. The offset is
perfect. The problem is that if you move the wheels out (smaller offset)
then there may be clearance problems in the rear (fender). If you move the
wheels in (higher offest), then you might have a control arm/strut housing
rubbing problem. If you use a 225/50/16 tire then you get inside wheel
well rubbing on a lowered car (koni/eibach). The 16x8 35mm 225/45/16 setup
works ideally on these cars.
If you want to use wheel pairs that have different offsets (ala Audidudi)
then you might increase the offset of the wheels you plan to use on the
back, but then you could not easily rotate the tires...
