Re: A6 Warm Weather Package
I have an '98 A6Q with the Warm Weather Package on order and hope to have it this week. I live in Atlanta AKA "HotLANTA" and it is hot for more months in the year than it is cold. I was in exactly the same situation as you I decided that I would benefit greatly by having the WWP. The car's got a heater anyway. Heated seats and the heated steering wheel are features I could easily live without. Look at the advantages of the WWP.
Solar Sunroof Cutting-edge technology
Insulated windows - Partially roll the windows down and feel the top edge of the window.
It's not one pane of glass but two with a metallic coating in between.
Advantages: Reflects 99% of UV rays, virtually non-breakable
and almost sound-proof.
Solar powered ventilated fans:
The interior stays over 20 degrees cooler at all times. You'll never get into a hot car again. This is a very practical and useful feature that has been confirmed by several A8 owners.
NOTE: Cars with the Warm Weather Package are being delivered without the side sun-shades and the price for the package has been dropped to $1500 from $1800. This is because the part is in short supply and Audi did not want to hold up production because of it.
Not sure how cold it gets up in Raleigh, but if I were the salesman I'd leave the choice up to the customer. Weigh the winter and the summer and see what season you don't like and make the choice accordingly.
For all current and future A6/A8 owners there is an excellent discussion/info forum and can be reached at:

I have been seriously considering a new A6 and it seems to me that the warm=
weather package would be a more useful option for my area (Raleigh,NC) than=
the cold weather package. The warm weather package comes with tinted=
windows, solar powered ventilating fan and insulated sunroof and maybe=
insulated windows (not clear from brochure.) The local dealer thinks that=
we are part of the frozen north and only seems to have models in stock with=
cold weather package and not the warm weather package. Has anyone in a=
warmer (I suppose) region seen, driven, or own an A6 with the warm weather=
package? I am interested in finding out if it is effective at keeping the=
car cooler.
