Just finished having the local dealer replace timing belt on my 1993 
100 CSQW.  The V-6 engine had 61 K miles.  The belt was in good 
condition.  When flexed at a sharp angle the individual fiber strands 
could be seen but there was no cracking.  What disturbed me was the 
leaking oil pump.  This oil had found its way on to the timing belt.  
Not a large amount but it was contaminated.  Apparently (according to 
the technician) this pump is constructed of porous metal and seeps 
over time.  This is something other V-6 owners should be aware of.  I 
had the pump replaced while it was already torn down.
