Not according to the article "Peak Perfection" that appeared in the
September 24, 1986 issue of Autocar ... it details the development path of
the Pikes Peak cars Audi ran and the engine used in the Talladega speed
record 200q had "only" four valves per cylinder, inclined 25 degrees ... it
also had titanium con rods, a large turbo that ran 30psi of boost (with more
still available, if necessary), twin fuel injectors per cylinder, etc.  The
engine reportedly made 680hp and the car -- using what appeared to be a
prototype V8 bodyshell -- weighed only 2363 pounds.  The article also has
several photos of the car...
