AUDI TURBO "FUEL STARVATION"

Hi there guys, me again,

Another problem has just cropped up, which I thought was under
control. My car's fuel pump stopped working completely about a month
ago, I bought a brand new unit from the agents and fitted it with a
replacement fuel filter.

Ever since then the car is fuel starved at high load conditions. It
pulls well on high RPM, but when it switches to another gear, and has
to pull hard, it goes for a while and then starts cutting back.
The condition only improves when I ease off the throttle, but then
obviously at much less power.

The agents checked it out for me and found that the pump was
delivering enough pressure. Our combined verdict was that the
delivery was not enough. A new pump has just been fitted, and there
is no difference in the condition. What on earth can it be?

Is it possibly the frequency valve, dirty contacts??
I am going to overhaul and check the whole system soon, I have a bit
of time for maintenance now.

If anyone can help please let me know.
