I've always been warned to avoid overfill, but I really don't have any idea
about when/where problems would be expected. Is any significant _damage_
likely to result from moderate am't of overfill? And if so, what excess
am't merits definite action? Is the I5 engine any more (or less) vulnerable
to overfill than other engines might be?
For example, when I had my late-200q changed to synth oil last month, the
mechanic wasn't very familiar with the 3B engine, and I heard him muttering
something about suspecting there was a larger crankcase. I said I didn't
think so. Anyway, I later (at home) found that the new oil level was about
1/3 qt too high. I decided to let it ride, since it didn't seem alarmingly
high. Also, I thought the consumption level might possibly be a bit higher
with the new synth oil. Sadly, we never had a chance to find out.

FWIW: 180 degree turns, depending on the axis of rotation, can play strange
tricks with oil level.
