Thermal Coatings

As if this horse weren't already beaten to death... here comes
Doug, playing the child who just can't see the Emporer's Fine Clothes!

Virtually every EM I've seen has a serious coating of iron oxide,
and I seem to recall that RUST impairs the flow of heat.

So how could an "uncoated" manifold be better than a "coated" one?
