(I've been setting up an intranet at the orifice, er, office; anyway,
replying to this message should work).
My fuel pump relay has the molding in the plastic relay cover to
accept a fuse (which we use to initiate the code dumping sequence)
but when I removed the cover to find out why the fuse didn't want
to seat properly, I found that there were no electrical contacts
inside the relay that connect to the fuse's contact blades! On the
relay's small printed circuit boards, the were places for the
contacts to be soldere onto the board, but had never been installed.
I've thought I might install a momentary pushbuton switch on the
relay top, so I could just press a button to dump codes, instead
of looking for a spare fuse.
However, as you may have read my latest post on the subject,
the ECU I pulled from the boneyard is now working OK.
Although I'm looking forward to chipping my 5kcstq, sometimes
I think the car may already be overpowered... it trys to get away
from me (always seem tobe going 20mph faster than I think). :-)
