I'll add to beating this dead horse ;-) When I bought my first q back in 87 I
was told not to exceed 4000 rpm until the oil temp indicator moved off of the
bottom segment. (It was a 4kcsq so it had the oil temp bar graph display.)
Sounds like a simular piece of advice. (Though a bit less conservative maybe.)
The 5kcstq has no such display so I just try to go easy on it until I see the
coolant temp come up...it seems to take about 5-6 miles from dead cold. (My
commute is accross town, no highway driving.)
