I've been reading SOME not all of the post on this subject.  One 
thing comes to mind.  Everyone is referring to cold.  What is cold?
Seems to me that that is going to very alot.  Now, it is in the teens 
in the morning and mid thirties after work.  Next  month I will 
expect the normal 20 to 30 below 0.  This 40-50 degree change in 
temps. makes a big difference when it comes to warming up your car.
I say car rather then engine, because running your engine for a few 
minutes when its 30 below F, does alot more than just warm up the 
engine.  just my $.02
