tranny plug(ged)
(you can always tell when someone on the digest
posts, 'coz it's usually more than one in a row)
Anyway,
I went and got the Redline tranny oil this past
weekend. Chose MT-90.
I can't get the fill plug out. (no, I didn't
drain the oil yet.)
I've just about destroyed the plug. It has
started to split now at one of the inside
corners.
I'm using the most wonderful (not) Bigass(TM)
Allen wrench from Craftsman. They don't offer
a socket-type hex. (or so I was told) This is
the reason I can't apply the proper force in
the proper direction.
<sigh> I think I'm going to be compelled to
drop the tranny and get new plugs.
Even with dropping it, I'm not sure how to get
the garn-darnit thing out.
I'm thinking of just taking the car in the
shop to have it done. (totally not my style,
or my budget, BTW)
Are there any suggestions?
Ken
(but I got my swaybar bolted back on)
