No, don't hammer it and don't epoxy it. I also wouldn't buy a used one.

This hose has a built in plastic restrictor that has to be renewed every
time you undo the metal union in it's centre. Yours is probably clogged,
hence the seepage.

The hose comes in a kit together with restrictor, new lower banjo bolt
with the metal mesh and the O-rings (Cu washers in your case). Cost me
around $80.

Bentley is very specific on assembly and tightening procedure of the
whole thing.
