Dave, on our cars the correct Plus One upgrade would be to a 205/55/16.

Yes. Or flare fenders.
I am afraid you'd have to do it anyhow. I did it for my 205/55/16 on
16x7.5" MOMO Ferrari with ET=37 coz they were rubbing rear fenders.
