A tool that could be cut with a hack saw raises a big question about
it's quality and country of origin.
I bought mine from the industrial supply catalogue (McMaster-Carr). It
was a beefy, American made 17mmx60mm long bit in a huge 1/2 drive
socket.
The bit was too long and I decided to cut a piece off. It took me 20 min
and a ruined $200 diamond wheel (don't tell my boss). Now, that's a
tool!
OTOH, I keep a box of assorted asian made sockets coz whenever the need
arises for a holder for a new Audi tool that I intend to build, I just
take a socket of a nearest size, cut it on a lathe to fit, drill and tap
a hole in it's side and put a set screw in it. Rather convenient.
