The single highest frequency of amateur mis-diagnosis is "bad fuel
pump"...

Good for them! Nice to see some honesty (they don't want to screw
around for 6 hours on your meter and not fix it right...)

I don't think so.

A VW/Audi shop should be able to test it properly. Fuel pressure at
appropriate points, check injector spray, keep going. Spark? Timing?
ECU function, etc etc...
