I replaced these years ago on my 87 5ktqwagon and the nuts were indeed captive
(though they are movable for adjustment) so I imagine they are on the ur-q. I
noticed on my 88 80q that the "nylon collars" were removed from the design of
the door pins. This being Audi's "fix" I have wondered if simply adjusting the
pins inwards and using them as-is may be a reasonable fix, though you may
still have some vertical looseness in the latch. I have gotten away with
replacing these collars with small peices of high density poly tubing FWIW.
The collars don't seem to last and the last time I priced door pins they were
around $8.00 each. Anyone tried updating to the later (collar-less) types?
