The blue/grey will be a lead to your console light dimmer switch.
The best thing you can do is find a switched power source in the
dash or center console areas. If you have a stock voltmeter in the
then it will have a switched power feed, course running the radio
from here may affect the voltmeter reading making it slightly more
innaccurate. But adding a fused and relayed 12v power suplly to
the gauge is another post...

Subject: 4k Audi(o) question
Stayed up late last night trying to install my spiffy new Blaupunkt
CD/Receiver and have a few questions:
1. The stock wiring harness has four wires:
Red/grey wire - +12V to the battery
White - antennae power
Brown - ground
Blue/grey???? (Anyone know what this wire is for?)
2. My receiver has four wires as well
+12V constant battery
Switched to ignition
Antennae power
Ground
My real question is, since Audi wires their radios to be independent of the
ignition switch, what should I do with the wire from the radio that's
intended to be switched by the ignition? If I connect it to the +12V
red/grey wire, the radio will work, but the backlit clock doesn't go off
even if the unit itself is powered down.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
