1) Remove the lower nut from the antisway bar mounting point
2) Remove the two camber\balljoint nuts
3) Remove the control arm bushing bolts (mounting to subframe)
4) Remove the control arm from the subframe
5) Remove the camber/balljoint plate (the one with the two
studs that you removed the nuts from). Light taps from below
and prying from above work well.
6) Convince the balljoint that it wants to come out of control arm
Installation is reverse of removal. I tend to antiseize the balljoint
for easier reinsertion (into the control arm)...
Takes approximately 15 minute per side after you'vr done it once.

Subject: Lower A arm linkage
Hey everyone,
My 1987 4000csq had a run in with a curb and need to replace the lower a
arm on the drivers side. I haave gotten the inner bushings(pivots)
disconnected and I also have the camber adjustment bolts out. I can't
get the joint or post at the bottom of the strut to come out. How do I
disconnect this? It is the last thing i need to disconnect. If you have
any advice on replacing lower arms on the 4000q i will put it to good use!!!
PLEASE REPLEY PERSONALLY TO: hmhucks@eos.ncsu.edu
Thank you in advance,
