Climate control problem

This should come as no surprise, but I'm having climate control problems with
my 1990 100. Basically, it's blowing hot air out of the dash vents when it
should be blowing cold air, making the car quite toasty at times. I was led
to believe the A/C programmer might be the culprit, so I replaced it and --
voila! -- no effect on the problem.

I have the Bentley manual, but the diagnostics and such are way too
complicated for me. So I could really use your help. Any ideas of where I
should look? And anyone want to buy an almost-new A/C programmer?  :-)
