Overboosting 200t....what the $%@#@@???

Hi!

During my recent stint at the coast I got back all the boost my 200t
normally generates. I watched the electronic boost gauge and saw my
1.3 bar come up very nicely (even if the car is not too happy with the
engine mounts, but I still gave it an occassional push but not too
much as it was running a bit lean down there). Yesterday, I was
gunning it on the local road here up country on my way to the place
I stay. I had to overtake a truck, the car surges a little bit (see
my other post from today) so as I was overtaking I switched the
computer over to monitor the boost and was shocked to see a reading
of 1.6 bar on a car limited to 1.4 bar. This morning I checked again
and the reading still shows 1.6 bar at times. It has never shown me
more than 1.1 bar here at altitude. Only after coming back from the
coast has it started to do this. Can this reading be related to the
slight surging I feel from the car and also the rumble and roar noises
coming from the motor or front of the car when I'm idling or driving?

I believe that gauge is a slow reactor and will normally not show the
exact boost. Could this mean that something has gone wrong and that
the boost is way over normal and also way over the 1.6 bar that shows
up?
