It is odd, the variance in consumption- my 87 5kt has used *no* oil in the
42,000 miles I've had it. It now has 175,000 miles- five quarts in, five
out. The previous owner used Valvoline 20w50 Racing most of the year (it's
55 degrees at noon here today) since 1988 when he acquired it- due to the
60 minutes fiasco! I kept up the Valvoline/Bosch filter routine and it
continues to amaze me just how long this motor will go! Come spring, I'll
have the Vespa running(Back-up transport!) and I'll do the manifold,
lifters, and clutch- good
for another 175K then??
I must say, your driveline wails are puzzling, Alex. Best of luck in
finding a quick, cheap solution....
