BAD ADVICE!  If you do this then you will not be able to use your wipers 
again ... unless you want to wipe under your hood!  

If the wipers stop immediately when switched off it means that there is 
a problem with the return switch in the wiper mechanism.  This may be 
internal or simply that power is not getting to this switch.
