Inlet Manifold Gasket

     Does anyone have any recommendations on removing an inlet manifold 
     gasket which is bonded to the head. So far attempts have included 
     using a putty knife and applications of WD40 and Carb cleaner, all 
     with very limited success. I was considering using a small gas torch 
     to try and loosen up the gasket sealant?
     
     BTW, the car is a friends 240SX that I'm helping him with.
     
     Mandatory Audi content. Spotted only one Audi in Tobago, very clean 
     circa '89 100 Estate 2.0E. Nice place for a tarmac rally :)
