A4 purchase?

Hey all,

I'm seriously considering the purchase of an A4 1.8tq w/ sport package 
etc. I will most likely modify it extensively. What have people paid for 
their A4's? How many have serious mods approaching 300hp? How fast is 
this car with these mods (any hard numbers)? I ask because the S4 may 
come to the US this fall, and I could probably find the money to purchase 
one, though not sure if it will be worth it when compared to a well tuned 
1.8tq. One problem exists though, that is I need one soon. My Corrado is 
down due to an accident, and will then be going under the knife for its 
Syncro conversion after repairs are complete.
