I don't think police anywhere in Europe has detector detectors like VG-2
or something. The problem is, with small differences depending on exact
regulations in particular country, you usually are disallowed to even
_have_ the radar detector in your car. Before January 1998 it was
illegal to _use_ the detector in Poland (eg. the cop had to prove that
the detector was plugged in and the power was on). Since this year it is
illegal to _have_ the detector in the "ready to use condition", so if
you open the glove box get your licence and unfortunately you keep a
detector with power cord attached there and the cop can see it... you
are in trouble :-(
I believe similar regulations are in effect in other European countries
as well, eg. if the cop sees a detector in your car, be it under
passenger's seat, it's considered an offence.
