Here's the deal, Steve. As found on my formerly-full-US-spec '91 200q, that is.

* US DOT lights have inner "parking"/"city" (low power) lights, then the 9004
dual filament hi/low beams, then a side marker light behind an amber panel.
Sucky to the max, though I thought the amber went well with my "bamboo"
exterior color.

* E-code lights have inner "driving" lights which are an H3 (but shouldn't a
true driving light have a separate switch rather than automatic engagement with
main beam?), outer H4 dual filament high/low beams, a white reflector on the
side (they are deeper than the DOTs, there is no room for the side marker
light), and a small socket under the H4 for a low-power marker/"city"/"parking"
light (use the wire from the DOT inner bulb). Let there be light!

* Fog light button on the console activates a single *rear* fog light on the
left side.
