Re: Used Car Prices

Joe said,

<Some of you people need to slow down and take a look at what you are
saying.>

So I did, et tu Brutus!

<The person who said he would make a ridiculous offer for the car
because it had been restored is an idiot.>

If that was the only reason he made a low offer I would agree, I tend to
make low offers for various reasons, chiefly because it is much easier
to negotiate up than down, and every used Audi will end up needing a
$500 something or 2. In my book, a person who buys an S type car (
rebuilt, fully functional and sound) for say 10-50% off market price can
be called alot of things, but "idiot" doesn't come to mind.

<...he won't be happy since he didn't get to screw anybody out of a car
for nothing>

A gun has never been used in any of my vehicular transactions, save
those that involved blue lights and mistaken identities. I've fallen
into a few sweet deals on 2 and 4 wheeled vehicles and never thought the
buyer or seller were impaired. If a seller gets a better offer than me,
I lose no problem, great thing about America this!

<The reason that rebuilt cars have gotten such a bad reputation is
because of the idiot that said they would offer him something that would
piss him off.>

Oh, so this is why my 81 UrQ is looked down upon, a buddy always offers
me $2,500 for that 17 year old has been! This reasoning is specious at
best and a post hoc fallacy at worst. Rebuilts get a bad rap because of
misrepresentation and the fact that not all rebuilders may be as
conscientious as you! Suffice it to say, the epidermally challenged
should not be in the habit of buying and selling used autos.

<So for the idiot that said he would offer an idiotic (do we see a theme
here?) price for the car. I hope he gets a piece of crap from someone
for what he pays for it>

Ah, were has literary license/the Rogets gone Unka Bart? This is not
the sense of community we look to promote on the list!

<YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.>

Sometimes, sometimes more, sometimes less. There in lies the art of the
deal.
I volunteer to my collegue from Tennessee, If the ambient temperature
gradient is unbearbly high, get thee out of culinary preparation!

Curious to know what listers best (Audi?) deal was
