I have owned both the sedan and wagon versions of these cars from the same
model year (87) and don't think this is so. Granted there were enough years in
between to perhaps obscure my recolection ;-) Both cars were right about 3k
rpm @ 80 mph, and both have (again, if I'm not mistaken...owner's manual not
in hand) the same tank size (21.7 gallon?). In fact the cars (5ktq wagon and
sedan) are so much alike, that after years of living with the wagon of the
same color as my current sedan I sometimes take a double-take as I look out
the rearview mirror and see the rear window so much closer than I was used to.
Yes, I am aware of slight differences in rear shocks and maybe brakes...but I
can't say that I feel any difference, though the dwell years in between
ownership may have something to do with that. I invite comparison comments
from others who have owned both...just a curiousity thing.
