also FYI,

the 1990 slush V8 has a 4.11 final drive (and is thus better accelerating
theoretically than the 91 slush) and a 14/18 EPA rating which is bull
because i never get less than 19 mpg in mixed city/highway driving. 
(v8s from 1992 onwards retained the 3.78 final drive but they got
a capacity increase from 3.6 to 4.2 liters)

also the torque convertor/coupling typically provides a 2:1 multiplcation
in ratios.
