A funny story

Hi Y'all,

There is some at least marginal Audi content but mostly this is just a
funny but true story.

There are several threads to tie together.

Thread 1: A 19 year old girl who lives about a mile from me who goes to my
church dumped her psychotic boyfriend a couple of weeks ago. A few days
later he mailed her a package containing the head of her cat which he had
given her some months earlier. Nice young man, huh?

Thread 2: About two weeks ago, Stott Hare sent me an ON/OFF switch for my
memory seats in my '89 200tq (Aha! Audi content!). He called to tell me
that he had gone to great lengths to wrap the switch using a variety of
tapes and alumin(i)um foil and... I should not be fearful of opening it
when it arrived. He was curious whether the US Postal Service would
deliver such a package. Until this evening, I was still waiting for it to
arrive.

Thread 3: About a week ago, our new pastor (who lives across the road from
me and whose Rt. 1, Box 58 address is quite similar to my Rt. 1, Box 57
address) received a very strangely wrapped package in the mail. His wife
started opening the package thinking it was a joke from her son. After
unwrapping several layers she decided that it was not from her son. They
knew of the cat head package. Feeling rather insecure and debating whether
or not to call the state police bomb squad, they placed the rest of the not
yet completely opened package in their garage where it would do minimal
damage if it went off.

Thread 4: This evening after church we invited the pastor and his wife for
espresso. During our visit, Mrs. Pastor told us about the strange package
they had received and was quite concerned that someone might have been
sending them a warning or a bomb or who knows what kind of threatening
package in the mail. Since we are good friends she asked us for advice and
what we thought might be going on. I told her about Stott's shipment. Her
relief was *extremely* apparent.

I still haven't seen the package but I suspect that either Stott got the
wrong address or the package was mis-delivered by the PO. Anyway, I think
the switch has made it here, Stott. Thanks.

I'll go get it in the morning.

Thanks for a great laugh. :-)
