IT RUNS

As some of you know already I fired up the turbo 4kq this week and so far most
everything works. Just some exhaust work and putting the interior back
together left and I should be on the road next week.

The only question I have so far is I am experiencing a low rpm, low oil
pressure problem. To give a little history I have an mc installed into a 4kq.
I am going to use an aftermarket oil cooler since it is almost impossible to
fit the 5kt cooler with the stock hoses. But for now I have one of the hoses
looped into the outlet so it just forms a short loop. When the car is at idle
and warm the oil pressure light is flickering. It does not do anything above
idle or at the higher reaches. I suspect that not having an oil cooler could
be the culprit. It may be that when the thermostat in the oil filter housing
opens it is creating too little back pressure. Any BTDT's out there. Could
it be anything else. I really hope it is not the screen in the oil pick up.
We did clean it thoroughly before installing it but we did a half rebuild on
it so maybe it got plugged already.
Thanks for any ideas.
