Hi Kerry;

    Without knowing other symptoms, a bad check valve at the fuel pump would
be my first guess. I have had several of these fail with resultant hard
starting problems. They are prone to failure; the local Audi dealer usually
installs two in series as a replacement if he can fit them in.
