Paul, just out of curiosity, what's the mileage of the vehicles that you've
just switched to Syntec? I'll be interested to hear/read your impressions
in a few weeks to see if leaks do, in fact, occur.

Just changed the oil in my S4 and my Avant to Syntec 5W50.
Sure like the way it sounds at cold start.
Hope my seals don't start leaking like Mobil 1 did to my Mercedes and my
Peugeot.
