Internally vented what?
I was thumbing through some magazines and surfing through some web sites
and I've seen with a lot of German cars, the claim is made of them having
internally vented brakes. Is this referring to internal venting slots or
the internal (UFO) system on Audis? Is is possible that another maker may
have been able to perfect what Audi couldn't/didn't? Most particularly was
the MB E50. They said something about the rotor being suspended by 12 or
something pins. A lot of the other lines claim the same brake type.
Surfing through some Porsche web sites, they all detail the brakes on the
944 (at least the Turbo) being internally vented. What's the deal? Anyone
else use the UFO style before or since Audi?
