re: cc blows too much hot air: fix proc for outside air flap?

My '91 200q started putting out too much heat last night on the way home; I
can hear the outside air flap trying to open, but it doesn't appear to work.
I seem to remember that there's an arm which operates the flap which can
break: anyone BTDT?  No faults apparent in the CC system; I'll run diagnostics
tonight (I have the bentley).  My other thought would be a faulty inside temp
sensor, but there's two... so which one is faulty?
