More tire experiences requested - A8 wheels on 5k/200

I've got a set of the 7JX16H2ET37 A8 wheels that will be going on the '88
5kCSQW as soon as the current tires wear out (very soon :).  I was a bit
apprehensive after reading Dave Head's horror story about the 225 width tires.
I'd like to go as wide as possible and maintain the M+S rating and would
appreciate hearing from those of you with experience on this wheel
configuration in a '85-88 5kCSQ or '89-90 200Q with stock suspension.  I'd
like to know what brand and size tires you are using (or have tried with
problems).  Feel free to post the list if you are compelled to do so, but I
will also compile responses that I recieive via direct e-mail and if I get a
big enough sample post the results to the list.
