Hi Jeff.
I was visiting UK in November to spectate and service at the RAC rally. I
visited Kim Collins as a part of my Audi (UrQ) related tour of AM,
Dialynx and Quattro Sport. I personally met and spoke with all three
propriators. Kim Collins was great to talk to. He was vey familiar with
stock Audi componenets and his prices were substantially less than that
of two other shops. He was honest about what he could and couldn't get.
He has great many parts from his extencive dismantling operation (like
two other shops). I think that I will be purchasing more from UK now
because their prices are better.Kim told me that he did accept credit
cards and was willing to ship worldwide. Unlike two other places he
doesn't bother with fabricating reproduction parts or making a catalog
and goes by microfiche. Dialynx has his own catalog and does much
fabrication. Most of what Kim does is related to conversions using OEM
parts from other Audi cars or restorations. I think he buys from Dialynx
himself on accation. When I was in his shop he came across OK and showed
me his Convertible Coupe Quattro 20V turbo car which was nicely done as
well as popular 20V conversion of old UrQ to 20V with Dialynx water
cooled intercooler. Alred in Dialynx would not show me anything even
though we had several common Quattro rally friends. I have not purchased
from him yet so I can't make any recomendations about his honesty.
