I can't help you here, Mike because the only lower hose I've worked on was 
on an engine stand outside the car (thanks, Brendan.)   The top hose, I've 
done in the car.   Its an easy swap.

Indeed.   My top hose broke there last fall.

I have since sourced all the correct fittings and hose to replace both
coolant lines to and from the turbo.  Email me privately if you're
interested.
