RE: Here's a stumper...for me in any case
I had similar symptoms on my 5KCST. The alt and parking brake lights
would light up after I have driven through water or the car has sit for
some time in wet enviroment. This was sometimes accompanied with the
"battery voltage" warning symbol on auto-check display. Everything would
usually come back to normal after couple minutes of driving. I decided
not to worry about it and kept driving in this condition for several
months after finally the alternator died (it started to make whining
noise and I had to rev the engine to keep the voltage at reasonable
level). After I had the alternator rebuilt by an electrician, I've never
had these problems again.
